This is another model in the Fukuda range which is extremely robust, having a drop-test specification of 1 metre onto concrete. Both very useful features.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eSlope\/Grading Overview\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGeneral builders, groundworkers, roofers and others often need to calculate slope or at least they must have some understanding of it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSlope, grade, tilt or inclination can be expressed in three ways:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1) As a ratio of the rise height to the run length (for example 1 in 20) or equally in terms of the fall height to the run length.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2) As a percentage called the \u003cem\u003e\"grade\"\u003c\/em\u003e which is the \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e(rise ÷ run) x 100;\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cem\u003eeg. 1m rise÷ 20m run x 100 = 5% (instead of rise can read fall)\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3) As an \u003cem\u003eangle\u003c\/em\u003e (almost always in degrees)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOf these 3 ways, Slope is normally expressed as a ratio or a percentage grade much more often than an actual angle and here's the reason why.....\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStating a ratio such as 1 in 20 immediately tells you, that for every 20 horizontal units measured, your height changes by 1 unit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStating this as a percentage, whatever horizontal distance you measure, your height changes by 5% of that distance. Stating this as an angle of 2.8624 degrees doesn't give you much of an idea of how the rise compares to the run!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eFeatures\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe FRE-203XT (auto) self-levels horizontally \u0026amp; vertically, is accurate to +\/-2.8mm over 30m \u0026amp; has a 500 metre diameter range using the supplied laser detector.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor site Groundworks use, this is a TRUE GRADE laser. Simply input the slope % directly within the range +10% to -10% of fall.
